Short answer: Credits are how you pay for ads. You have one balance, and each ad takes some out of it. Image ads cost the least, full UGC videos the most, and captions cost a little extra.
  • You see the exact cost before anything is made.
  • Failed ads are not charged.
  • Your balance is at the bottom left of the app.
Everything you make in UGCFirst is paid for with credits. You have one balance, and every ad you make takes some out of it. Credits come either with a monthly plan or as a one-off pack you buy when you need one. Nothing is charged per ad on top of that — the credits are the price.

What each thing costs

Captions are an add-on. They go on top of whatever you are making, so a full UGC video with captions is 110 credits rather than 100. A quick word on the names, because they are not obvious:
  • An image ad is a still picture, like a photo ad in a feed.
  • An avatar video is a presenter — a face — talking to camera about your product.
  • A full UGC video is the whole thing: a person, a setting, a script, edited together. UGC means user-generated content, which is the industry’s way of saying “an ad that looks like a real customer filmed it”.

Working out what you need

Think in finished ads rather than in credits. On Hook, which gives you 200 credits a month, that is two full UGC videos. Or twenty image ads. Or five avatar videos. Or any mix of those. Most people mix them. A common first month is one or two full videos to find out what lands, then image ads to test different angles cheaply.

Where to see your balance

Bottom left of the app, under the menu. It shows the number you have available, then a bar with how many you have used and how many are left — something like 1,488 used · 2,880 left — and a Buy credits button underneath.

If an ad fails

You do not pay for it. An ad that errors out is labelled Failed · not charged in My ads, and the credits either never leave your balance or come back to it.

What is free

The free score is free. Paste a product link and get it scored for ad potential — no credits, no card. That is the one thing in UGCFirst that does not cost credits.
