# Make your first ad

> Paste a product link, approve the plan, get a video ad. Around five minutes, and you see the price before anything is charged.

> [!TIP]
>
> **Short answer:** Press **Create**, then **Autopilot**, and paste your product link. UGCFirst researches your product for free, then shows you the plan and the total cost. Nothing is charged until you press **Generate ad**.
>
> * The whole thing takes about five minutes.
> * Your finished ad appears in **My ads**.

Autopilot does the whole thing: reads your product, decides how to sell it, writes the script, picks the person, and edits the video.

## What it costs

A full UGC video is 100 credits. The research is free, and you see the exact total on screen before you commit. You only pay at the last step.

## Make the ad

**1. Press Create, then Autopilot**

**Create** is the green button at the top left. You'll see four ways to make an ad — **Autopilot** is marked *Recommended*.

**2. Paste your product link**

Paste the address of your product page. Made an ad before? Scroll to **Or start from a saved product** and pick it instead.

Underneath, choose what to make. **Video** is already selected — that's the UGC video ad.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Captions are on, and they add 10 credits.** They're the words on screen as the person talks. Most people scroll with the sound off, so they usually earn their place. You get both versions either way.
>
> On Pay as you go, captions are locked and the row shows an upgrade button instead. Any paid plan turns them on.

**3. Check it found the right product**

You'll see what it read from your page — the name and the pictures. Fix the name if it's wrong and pick which picture to feature.

Wrong product entirely? Press **Not right? Use a different link**. Then press **Looks right — research it**.

**4. Wait about a minute**

It reads your page and photos and works out who buys products like yours. The screen looks empty while it works — that's normal. Nothing has been charged.

**5. Read the plan, then approve it**

This is where you decide whether to spend. It shows the strategy chosen for you, what will be made, a forecast score and the total cost.

Read it before pressing anything — [what each part of it means](https://ugcfirst.com/help/getting-started/approving-your-ad.md).

Press **Generate ad** to go ahead, or **Cancel**, which costs you nothing.

**6. Find it in My ads**

Your ad shows as *Making*, then *Ready*. You don't have to wait on the page — turn on the email under **Settings → Notifications** instead.

## When it's ready

Preview it or download the file from **My ads**, then upload it wherever you run ads. See [finding and downloading your ads](https://ugcfirst.com/help/managing/where-to-find-and-download-your-ads.md).

If it says **Failed · not charged**, your credits are still there — see [why ads fail](https://ugcfirst.com/help/troubleshooting/why-did-my-ad-fail.md).
