# Do credits expire?

The short answer: credits you **bought as a pack** never expire. Credits that came with your **monthly plan** roll over, up to a limit.

## Pack credits

They stay until you spend them. Changing plan does not touch them. Cancelling does not touch them. There is no deadline of any kind.

## Plan credits

Unused plan credits carry into the next month. You can bank up to **three months' worth** of your plan's monthly credits.

The part worth understanding, because the wording trips people up: three months is a **ceiling, not a deadline**. Nothing is deleted after three months. What happens instead is that you stop collecting new credits until you have spent back below the ceiling.

Here is what that looks like on Hook, which gives 200 credits a month:

* You make nothing for three months. You now have 600 credits — three months' worth. That is the ceiling.
* The next month, no new credits arrive, because you are already at the ceiling. You still have all 600.
* You spend 300 on ads. You are down to 300.
* The month after that, your 200 arrives as normal.

Nobody's credits are taken away for sitting unused. You only ever stop collecting while you are at the top.

## If you cancel

Your remaining plan credits stay usable for **30 days** after you cancel. After that they expire.

Pack credits are not affected by cancelling. They stay.

## If you change plan

Moving between plans does change your plan credits. That is covered separately in [changing or cancelling your plan](https://ugcfirst.com/help/billing/change-or-cancel-your-plan.md).
